ways, including farm tractors, road construction or mainte-
nance machinery, ditch-digging apparatus, well-boring appara-
tus and concrete mixers. The foregoing enumeration shall be
deemed partial and shall not operate to exclude other such
vehicles which are within the general terms of this section.

(55). STATE: Any State, territory or possession of the
United States, the District of Columbia or any Province of the
Dominion of Canada.

(56) STREET CAR: A car other than a railroad train for
transporting persons or property and operated upon rails prin-
cipally within a municipality.

(57) STREET OR HIGHWAY: The terms "street, " "highway, "
"roads, " "public highway" or "public roads" shall include any
highway of thoroughfare of any kind used by the public
whether actually dedicated to the public and accepted by the
proper authorities or otherwise and the term shall include
roads and driveways* of State Hospitals and other State In-
stitutions.

(58) TAXICAB: The term "taxicab" as used in this Article
shall embrace any motor vehicle for hire, designed to carry
seven persons or less, including driver, operated upon any pub:
lie street or highway in this State, or, on call or demand, ac-
cepting or soliciting passengers indiscriminately for transpor-
tation for hire between such points along public streets or
highways in this State, as may be directed by the passenger or
passengers so being transported; provided that nothing in this
Article shall be construed to include as a taxicab, a motor
vehicle operated with the approval of the Public Service Com-
mission on fixed routes and schedules,

(59) THROUGH HIGHWAY: Every highway or portion there-
of at the entrances to which vehicular traffic from intersecting
highways is required to stop and yield right-of-way before en-
tering or crossing the same and when stop signs are erected as
provided in this Article.

(59%) TRACKLESS TROLLEY: A car for the transportation
of persons or property, propelled by electric power obtained
from overhead wire, but not operated upon rails or tracks.

(60) TRAFFIC: Pedestrians, ridden or herded animals, ve-
hicles, street cars or trackless trolley and other conveyances
either singly or together while using any street or highway
for purposes of travel.
