"Against Motion Pictures on Sunday", then this Act. shall be
null and void or shall cease to be effective, as the case may be.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the im-
mediate preservation of the public health and safety, and
having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of
the General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date
of its passage.

CHAPTER 1007.
(House Bill 156)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 145 to 239A, inclusive, of Article
56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Licenses", sub-title "Motor Vehicles", and all amendments
thereof, and to enact in lieu thereof a new Article, said
new Article to be known as Article 6614, title "Motor Vehi-
cles", and to follow immediately after Article 66 of said
Code revising generally the Motor Vehicle Laws of Maryland,
providing certain traffic requirements and regulations for
street cars and trackless trolleys, and providing that all Acts
passed by the General Assembly of Maryland in the year
1943 at its General Session changing the provisions of the
law contained in this Act, as it existed prior to 1943, shall
have the same force and effect as if this Act |iad not been
passed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mart/-
land, That Sections 145 to 239A of Article 56 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Licenses", sub-title
"Motor Vehicles", be, and the same are hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That a new Article, to
be known as Article 66%, title "Motor Vehicles", to follow im-
mediately after Article 66 of said Code, be and it is hereby
enacted in lieu thereof, and to read as follows:

1. APPLICABILITY: The provisions of this Article are
intended to be State-wide in their effect, and except to the
extent that they may be specifically authorized by other pro-
visions of this Article, no City, County or other Municipal sub-
division of the State shall have the right to make or enforce
