said section was amended by Chapter 287 of the Acts of
1939, to provide additional salary for the Chief Deputy
Sheriff of Carroll County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 344 of Article 7 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Carroll County",
sub-title "Sheriff", as said section was amended by Chapter
287 of the Acts of 1939, be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
344. It shall be the duty of the Board of County Com-
missioners of Carroll County to furnish all supplies and
provisions necessary in their judgment for the support and
maintenance of all persons committed to the jail of said
county, and all fuel and light needed for said jail, and to
allow the sheriff the sum of three hundred dollars for
traveling expenses; and further to pay the chief deputy
sheriff a salary of twelve hundred ($1200. 00) dollars per
annum, payable monthly.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1943.

AN ACT to add one new sub-section to Section 3 of Article
33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition),
title "Elections, " sub-title "Supervisors of Elections, " as
said section was amended by Chapter 811 of the Acts of
1941, said new section to be known as Sub-section (h),
and to follow immediately after sub-section (g) of said
Section, relating to the salaries of members of the Boards
of Election Supervisors of Harford and Worcester Coun-
ties and the employment and salaries of a member of
the Bar and a Clerk by said Boards.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That one new sub-section be and it is hereby
added to Section 3 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Elections, " sub-title
"Supervisors of Elections, " as said section was amended
by Chapter 811 of the Acts of 1941, said new section to be
