taken as restricting any control which the State Board of
Health of Maryland and the Commission of Geology, Mines
and Water Resources of Maryland are empowered to exercise
within the sanitary districts.
SEC. 26. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

AN ACT to repeal Chapter 714 of the Acts of the General As-
sembly of Maryland of 1939, as amended, and to re-enact the
same with amendments as a bi-county act applicable to the
Maryland-Washington Regional District in Montgomery and
Prince George's Counties, and not as a public local law of
either county; to repeal Sections 676 to 709, inclusive, of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Montgomery County (1939
Edition), title "Maryland-Washington Regional District",
to repeal Chapter 703 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland of 1927, as amended and to re-enact the same with
amendments as a bi-county act applicable to the Maryland-
Washington Regional District in Montgomery and Prince
George's Counties and not as a public local law of either
county; to repeal Sections 664 to 671, inclusive, of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Montgomery County (1939 Edi-
tion); to repeal Chapter 373 of the Acts of the General As-
sembly of Maryland of 1931, Chapters 381 and 835 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1941, and to
exempt the Maryland-Washington Regional District as here-
in or hereafter defined from the provisions of Section 142
of Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition) and from the provisions of Section 62 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Montgomery County (1939
Edition).
SECTION 1. Be it enacted J)y the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That in order to embrace within a single bi-county Act,
which may hereafter be referred to or cited as "The Maryland-
Washington Regional District Act", all those provisions of law
applicable to the Maryland-Washington Regional District
lying in Montgomery and Prince George's Counties, and in
order to clarify the intent of the General Assembly of Mary-
land that said provisions of law are to be treated and con-
strued as applicable to the entire Maryland-Washington Re-
gional District as the same comprises portions of both counties,
