HERBERT R. O'CONOR, GOVERNOR. 171

"Carroll County", sub-title "Almshouse", said new sec-
tion to be known as Section 5A and to follow imme-
diately after Section 5 of said Article, to authorize the
County Commissioners of Carroll County to sell a part
or parts of the Almshouse property or farm.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added
to Article 7 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Carroll County", sub-title "Alms-
house", said new section to be known as Section 5A, to
follow immediately after Section 5 of said Article, and to
read as follows:

5A. The County Commissioners of Carroll County are
hereby authorized and empowered to sell, at public or
private sale, at the best price obtainable, such part or parts
of the County Almshouse property or farm as, in their
discretion, they shall determine to be to the interest and
advantage of the County to sell. The said Commissioners
are authorized to give a good and sufficient deed for the
property or properties so sold to the purchaser or pur-
chasers thereof. The proceeds from sale of said property
or properties shall be paid over to the County Treasurer
of Carroll County as a part of the general funds of the
County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1943.

(Senate Bill 179)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 56-58, inclusive, of Article 7
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Carroll County, " sub-title "Fences, " said
Sections relating to joint fences in Carroll County.

Whereas, the provisions of these Sections seem no longer
necessary or applicable; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 56-58, inclusive, of Article 7 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
