529. For each patient admitted to either of the chronic
hospitals and infirmaries from any county of the State or Balti-
more City, the County Commissioners of said county and the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore shall pay into the State
Treasury the sum of seventy-five cents per day, as long as said
patient remains in such institution. The remaining cost of
board, care and treatment, and the cost of operation shall be
paid out of appropriations in the budget. Said charge of
seventy-five cents per day shall be collectible by the State Comp-
troller in the same manner as in the case of patients admitted
to the insane hospitals of the State, as provided in Section 49
of Article 59 of the Code, and the Comptroller shall have the
power to determine, in the event of any dispute as to resi-
dence, which one of two or more counties may be responsible
for such charge.
530. Each of the chronic hospitals and infirmaries shall
have a Board of Visitors consisting of one member of the
Board of County Commissioners for each County and th^
Director of the Department of Welfare of Baltimore City in the
area served by such institution, said member to be selected by
said Board of County Commissioners. The Board of Visitors
shall make periodic visits to the institution and make sugges-
tions to the State Board of Health concerning the conduct and
maintenance of the chronic hospitals and infirmaries.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
35 of Article 7 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Carroll County", sub-
title "Circuit Court", sub-heading "War Records", relat-
ing to the preservation of certain records, proceedings
and documents of certain committees and organizations
of Carroll County participating in civilian activities dur-
ing the present war.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 35 of Article 7 of the Code of
