and Common Council of Riverdale, with the same voting
rights and privileges as a member of the Common Council
of Riverdale possessed by other members of that body.

The Mayor and Common Council of Riverdale, as soon as
practicable after the passage of this Act, shall appoint regis-
tration officers and provide for the registration of voters in
said annexed territory, in accordance with the law providing
for the registration of voters in the town of Riverdale. The
election for councilman provided for and created by this Act,
and all subsequent elections, and all necessary arrangements
therefor, including the appointment of election judges and
clerks of election for said annexed territory, shall be provided
for in the same manner and in accordance with the public
local laws of Maryland applicable to the election of officers
in said town. All voters so registered shall be entitled to
vote for the councilman created by this Act and for all
other elective officers of said town who are to be voted upon
by all of the voters of the town.

865E. Persons resident and property situate within the
territory which by this Act is annexed to the town of River-
dale, shall be exempt from taxation by said Mayor and
Common Council for the year 1943. Beginning with the
municipal levy to be made in the year 1944, the persons so
resident and the property so situate shall be subject to the
same taxes, assessments, license fees and charges as are now
imposed in said town or may be hereafter imposed. The
treasurer of the town of Riverdale is authorized and re-
quired, in addition to the duties heretofore imposed upon him,
to collect all municipal taxes, assessments, license fees and
charges levied, assessed and imposed by the Mayor and Com-
mon Council of Riverdale upon all persons resident and
property situate within said annexed territory > and for the
purpose of levying, assessing and collecting such taxes, as-
sessments, license fees and charges within such annexed ter-
ritory there is hereby made available to the Mayor and
Common Council of Riverdale the same authority now or here-
after provided by law for said purposes within the town of
Riverdale.

Whenever provision is made by law for the payment to
incorporate towns of their distributive share of any tax, ap-
propriation or allotment after December 31, 1943, the pro-
portionate share due the Mayor and Common Council of
Riverdale shall be computed and paid upon the basis of the
corporate limits of the town of Riverdale as enlarged by
this Act.

865F. All roads, streets, avenues or alleys, other than
State highways, lying within the territory annexed to the said
