grounds and shall frequently make inspection of all school
property and shall take such necessary action to maintain and
keep the most sanitary and efficient conditions possible about
any and all of the said school property. It shall be the further
duty of said supervisor of school property to frequently inspect
and cause to be made an inspection in the school rooms and
other buildings to insure proper heating, ventilating and light-
ing conditions, and to strive at all times to maintain better
accommodations for the comfort, convenience and health of the
teachers and children. The said supervisor shall frequently
inspect the privies, wash bowls, fixtures and plumbing on the
said school properties, and cause the same to be operated and
maintained in a sanitary manner, and he shall from time to
time cause an inspection to be made of the water supply of each
and every school and have a sample of the said water analyzed
to insure clean, healthy drinking water at the said schools. The
said supervisor shall cause to be made a survey of all school
property in Montgomery County, and enter the location, char-
acter, size and condition of said school property in a book to be
kept for that purpose, and he shall personally inspect and
record and report the condition of the same to the county board
of education and the county commissioners with his recom-
mendations as to the need for such property or the disposition
of the same, and in all matters and things in relation thereto it
shall be the duty of the said supervisor to provide and maintain
any and all school property of said county so that it may be
preserved and utilized for the purposes intended and not be
permitted to deteriorate or decay for lack of attention and for
this purpose the said supervisor shall be required to frequently
inspect and recommend and cause to be made the repairs re-
quired. The said supervisor of school property shall select,
appoint, supervise and remove all janitors of school buildings
in Montgomery County, and shall prescribe their duties in rela-
tion thereto, and whenever any law requires, or the board of
education of Montgomery County authorizes the insuring of
any of the school property or of any activities of the board of
education against any hazard or risk including liability or
collision insurance or the bonding of any employee of the
county school system of Montgomery County, it shall be the
duty of the said supervisor to procure such insurance or bond
and any renewal or renewals thereof. The said supervisor of
school property shall from time to time advise the county board
of education and the county commissioners of Montgomery
County of all the matters and things herein contained, and
shall aid, advise and suggest the various needs required for
the construction and maintenance of all school properties,
including the equipment thereof, and he shall keep accurate,
itemized records of the expense of the construction, main-
