of said month and the Wednesday following the said Tues-
day, in the said month, the Supervisor of Elections shall
sit as an officer of registration, in the City Hall or in some
other centrally located and convenient place, for the pur-
pose of revising the registration books of the several wards
and for transferring voters from one ward to the other in
case such voters have changed their residence, and also for
the purpose of adding the names of new and qualified voters
to the list of registration, and of striking off from said
registry the names of voters, known to be dead or proved
to be dead to his satisfaction, or who are known to have
changed their place of residence by removal, from the town
of Cambridge or by removing from one ward to the other,
or names of persons whose removal as aforesaid is proved
to the satisfaction of said officer. In case of any special
election, the registry lists, as revised at the preceding June
revision shall be used as evidence of the right of any person
to vote. The Supervisor of Elections shall have authority
and is empowered to appoint as officers of registration,
several assistants, not to exceed one for each ward, to
conduct such registration, each assistant to be paid the sum
of five dollars a day, and all officers of registration referred
to in this section, when qualifying, to be subject to and to
comply with the same provisions of law as do the clerks and
judges of election as set forth in Section 52 of this Article.
When sitting as an officer of registration the Supervisor of
Elections, and all officers of registration, shall have power
to administer an oath to every applicant for registration
and to any person, called as a witness to tell the truth, the
whole truth and nothing but the truth, and any false swear-
ing shall be perjury. The Commissioners of Cambridge
shall cause due advertisement of such registration, as well
as the sitting of the Supervisor of Elections as an officer
of registration as hereinbefore specified, by advertisement
inserted in at least two newspapers, published in the town
of Cambridge, stating the time and place of such registra-
tion and the wards in which it shall be held. Such offi-
cers of registration and the Supervisor of Elections, when
sitting as an officer of registration, shall have, during the
appointed time of their respective sittings in addition to
the duties and authority hereinbefore given them, such
powers as are conferred on officers of registration by Sec-
tion 16, of Article 33, of the Code of Public General Laws
of Maryland. Each candidate, at any election held under
any of the provisions of the Charter of Cambridge, or any
amendments thereto, shall have the right to enter the place
of registration or the polling place for his ward at any time
during the days appointed for registration of voters, or
during the voting and the counting of the votes, each can-
