sary, but not exceeding twenty, to serve no longer than
a period of fifteen days immediately prior to the last day
for the registration of voters preceding any Primary or
General Election, at a compensation of ten dollars ($10. 00)
each, per day. One-half of such number of temporary reg-
istrars as may be appointed under the provisions of this
section shall be selected from a political party opposite to
that of the Governor. Any two of such temporary regis-
trars, provided one be of opposite political affiliation to
the other, are hereby authorized during the period of their
appointment, to register, transfer, affiliate or change the
affiliation of any person or persons so applying, and for the
purpose of enabling such persons to register, transfer,
affiliate or change their affiliation, the temporary registrars
who may be appointed under the provisions of this section
shall have the rights and powers of registration officers,
including the right and power of administering oaths as
fully as those rights and powers are possessed by registra-
tion officers appointed under existing law, and such regis-
trars shall be governed by all the laws applicable to the
registration of voters in Baltimore City. Any person ag-
grieved by any decision of said temporary registrars shall
be entitled to have said decision reviewed in accordance
with the provisions of Section 29 of this Article.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1943.

(Senate Bill 449)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
266 of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington County, "
sub-title "Hagerstown, " providing for increased com-
pensation for the Board of Supervisors of Election of the
City of Hagerstown for primary and special elections.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 266 of Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Washington County, " sub-title "Hagerstown, " be and it
is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
