1472 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 828

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 184 and 198 of Article 10 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Dorchester County", sub-title "Taxes'', Section 184
having been amended by Chapter 360 of the Acts of 1933
and Section 198 having been amended by Chapter 362 of
the Acts of 1933, be and they are hereby repealed, and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

184. The Treasurer, subject to the consent of the County
Commissioners shall appoint an assistant to aid him in the
discharge of the duties of his office as he may direct, said
assistant to be known as an Assistant Treasurer, who shall
qualify under the Constitution and Laws of the State and
who shall give such bond as required by law, and with such
security as the County Commissioners shall require and
approve, and in the penalty of not less than ten thousand
dollars, the premium on which shall be paid by the County
Commissioners, for the faithful performance of the duties
assigned to said Assistant Treasurer by the Treasurer and
for the faithful performance of such duties as the Deputy
to the Treasurer has hitherto performed and such duties
and services now required by law or which hereafter may
be required of said Assistant Treasurer by law, or which
may devolve upon said official, and the salary of said
Assistant Treasurer shall not exceed the sum of sixteen
hundred dollars ($1, 600. 00) a year, payable monthly.
The Treasurer shall appoint a clerk for the proper dis-
charge of the duties of his office, subject to the consent of
the County Commissioners and the salary of said clerk
shall not exceed eight hundred ($800. 00) dollars a year,
payable monthly.

198. The County Commissioners of Dorchester County
shall between the first day of January and the first day of
April, beginning with the year 1943, and every two
years thereafter, appoint a clerk to the County Commis-
sioners of said County, and unless sooner removed for
cause he shall hold his office for two years from the 1st day
of July next succeeding his appointment; and shall receive
an annual salary not exceeding sixteen hundred
dollars ($1, 600. 00), payable monthly, by Dorchester
County. The said official shall perform all the duties and
services now required by law or which may hereafter be
required of him by law, or which may be required of him by
any order of the County Commissioners. He shall make
full, complete and accurate minutes of all transactions and
proceedings of the Board of County Commissioners and of
all orders passed by said board, and record the same in
