CHAPTER 766.
(Senate Bill 152)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 38 and 40 of Article 19 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Comptroller, " sub-title "Supervision of Expenditures of
Corporations Receiving Appropriations from the State. "

Whereas, these sections place certain limits on the use
of State appropriations by private institutions with re-
spect to the acquisition of capital assets; and

Whereas, it is the policy of the State at the present time
not to make appropriations for capital expenditures by pri-
vate institutions; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 38 and 40 of Article 19 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Comp-
troller, " sub-title "Supervision of Expenditures of Corpora-
tions Receiving Appropriations from the State, " be and
they are hereby repealed,

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 767.
(Senate Bill 160)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 4 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland and Baltimore City
Charter (1938 Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title
"Special Fund", said new section to be known as Section
946A and to follow immediately after Section 946 of said
Article, to provide increased pensions for members of
the police force and certain other employees of the Police
Department on account of length of service.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
