to the Clerk of the Superior Court of Baltimore City, if said
church, society or congregation or the greater part of the
members thereof reside in said city, and said certified copy
shall be again recorded by said Clerk. At the time of receiving
such plan, agreement or regulation, said Commission shall
collect a recording fee of ten dollars (f 10. 00). One-quarter of
the recording fee so collected shall be paid by said Commission
to the Clerk of the Circuit Court or the Superior Court to
whom a copy thereof is transmitted and the balance shall be
accounted for quarterly to the Comptroller and shall be paid
forthwith to the State Treasurer for the use of the State.
283. Every such plan, agreement or regulation, heretofore or
hereafter determined upon in the manner provided for in Sec-
tion 280 of this Article, may be amended from time to time and
in the manner following: the trustees or a majority of them
shall pass a resolution declaring that such amendment or
amendments is or are advisable and calling a meeting of all
persons above twenty-one years of age belonging to such church,
society or congregation, to take action thereon. Ten days'
written or printed notice stating the place, day or hour of such
meeting and the business proposed to be transacted thereat
shall be given to each such person by leaving the same with him
or at his residence or usual place of business or by mailing it,
postage prepaid and addressed to him at his address as it ap-
pears upon the records of said church, society or congregation.
If a majority of all such persons attending such meeting vote
in favor of such amendment, or amendments, articles of amend-
ment setting forth the same and stating that the same has or
have been duly advised by the trustees and adopted by such
persons, shall be signed and acknowledged in the name and on
behalf of the church, society or congregation by such of the
trustees as shall be designated in the resolution, adopted for the
purpose of declaring such amendment or amendments advisable,
and the matters and facts set forth in said Articles of amend-
ment shall be verified under oath by the Chairman of the meet-
ing of such persons at which such amendment or amendments
was or were adopted. Such articles of amendment, together
with a copy thereof, shall be filed by the trustees with the
State Tax Commission which, upon the payment, and not be-
fore, of the recording fee for which provision is hereinafter
made in this section, shall receive the same for record and
endorse thereon the date and time of such receipt and promptly
record the same as in the case of a plan, agreement or regula-
tion. After such recording the Commission shall transmit the
copy of such articles! of amendment to, and the same shall be
recorded by, the Clerk, in the same manner as provided in the
case of a plan, agreement or regulation. At the time of re-
