WHEREAS, the provisions of this section are more fully pro-
vided for by Sections 8 and 38 of this Article and are unneces-
sary; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 180 of Article 23 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Corporations", sub-title "Gas
and Electric Light Companies", be and it is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 15.
(Senate Bill 24)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 22
of Article 64A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Merit System", as said section was amended
by Chapter 866 of the Acts of 1941, relating to vacation and
sick leave.

CHAPTER 16.
(Senate Bill 29)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 770
of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Depart-
ment of Correction", providing that a prisoner may receive
diminution of his period of confinement for exceptional
industry commencing on. the first day of the month next
after which he shall be deemed to have manifested excep-
tional industry, skill and application to his duties in the
industrial, agricultural or administrative tasks assigned to
him.
