provements", be and it is hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1st, 1941.

CHAPTER 592.
(Senate Bill 498)
AN ACT to authorize and direct the State Roads Commis-
sion of Maryland to pay to Edward A. Clendenin, a
resident of Colora, in Cecil County, Maryland, the sum
of One Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($150. 00) as reim-
bursement for the loss of his horse.
WHEREAS, on the 23rd day of August, 1938, the horse of
the said Edward A. Clendenin died of injuries which it
sustained as a result of having fallen through a bridge over
which it was being driven, the said bridge, at the time,
being unsafe for travel, and having been allowed to be-
come and remain unsafe for a considerable time, and
WHEREAS, the said bridge crosses a small stream in Cecil
County, Maryland, near the village of Colora, and is a part
of the State's public road system, and as such is, and at
the time of the aforesaid accident was, under the super-
vision and control of the said State Roads Commission
of Maryland, and
WHEREAS, the said Edward A. Clendenin has never been
compensated or reimbursed for the loss of his said horse,
which he valued at the time at One Hundred and Fifty
Dollars ($150. 00), said valuation being fair and reason-
able.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the State Roads Commission of Maryland
be and it is hereby authorized and directed to pay to Ed-
ward A. Clendenin, as compensation for the loss of his
horse, the sum of One Hundred and Fifty Dollars
($150. 00).
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1941.
