HERBERT R. O'CONOR, GOVERNOR. 987

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That two new sections be and they are hereby
added to Article 24 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Worcester County", sub-
title "Ocean City", to be known as Sections 135A and 135B,
to follow immediately after Section 135 of said Article,
and to read as follows:

135A. Any qualified person who desires to become a
candidate for the office of Mayor of Ocean City or for the
office of City Councilman of Ocean City in any town elec-
tion, shall file with the City Clerk of Ocean City five days
before such election a written statement, signed by the per-
son seeking the office, containing his name, his residence
and the office to which he seeks to be elected.

135B. The official ballot at any town election shall
have printed thereon the names of all qualified candidates
who have filed the statement of candidacy required by the
preceding section, arranged alphabetically under the
proper designation of the office for which they are candi-
dates, and no ballots shall be accepted or counted by the
judges of election except the official ballot; provided, how-
ever, that any voter may write on his ballot and mark in
the proper place the name of any person other than those
already printed for whom he may desire to vote for any
office, and such votes shall be counted the same as if the
name of such person had been printed upon the ballot and
marked by the voter.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1941.

(Senate Bill 475)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 385 to 388, inclusive, of Article
23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Wicomico County", sub-title "Sheep".

WHEREAS, The provisions of these sections are no longer
in effect, having been superseded by general State law;
therefore,
