(c) Said Mayor shall have full supervision over all
municipal activities. He shall supervise and keep in repair
the streets, alleys and all municipal properties; he shall
supervise and keep in repair the entire municipal water
system of the town; he shall keep accurately in a well
bound book an account of all receipts and disbursements
of all monies and funds of the said corporation from each
and every source derived and shall pay out the said funds
only on the order of the chairman of the Council after
bills or orders thereof shall have been passed by a major-
ity of the Council; he shall report annually in writing to
the Council a detailed statement of the financial condition
of the corporation, showing the source of income and the
cause for which said income is expended, to whom paid
and shall cause said statement to be printed in a news-
paper published in said town; he shall collect taxes levied
by said municipal corporation by distress or execution in
the same manner as the taxes are now collected by the
tax collector of Carroll County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Mayor of
Mount Airy, Maryland for the performance of his duties
as set forth in Section one of this Act shall receive a total
salary of Five Hundred ($500. 00) Dollars per annum,
payable in equal monthly installments, and no other com-
pensation whatever, and he shall before assuming the
duties of this office give bond for the faithful performance
of his duties as Mayor with security to be approved by
the Mayor and Council in such panel sum as shall be pre-
scribed by ordinance which bond shall be made to said
Corporation and carefully filed among their papers and
recorded among the minutes of their proceedings.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That nothing in this
Act shall affect the compensation of the present Mayor of
Mount Airy, Maryland, but shall apply to the Mayor elected
at the regular biennial election in 1942 and thereafter.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1941.
