as Section 398A and to follow immediately after Section
398 of said Article, relating to the authority of munici-
palities to make sewer connections and to cause cess pools,
drains and privies to be closed and abandoned, and to
charge the costs thereof to the owners of the property
affected.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Health", sub-title "Water, Ice and Sewerage", said new sec-
tion to be known as Section 398A and to follow immediately
after Section 398 of said Article and to read as follows:

398A. Whenever any property owner, after due notice, fails
to make connection with a water main or sewer, or fails to
abandon all cess pools, drains and privies, as provided for
in Section 398 of this Article, said municipal authorities are
authorized to have such connections made or to cause all such
cess pools, drains and privies to be closed and abandoned, or
both, and to charge the costs of such connection or of such
closing, or both, to the owner of the property affected. Such
costs shall be a lien against the property affected until paid,
and the same may be collected in the same manner as county
or municipal taxes are collected. This section shall apply
only in Frederick County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 18 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title,
"Harford County", sub-title, "County Commissioners",
said new section to be known as Section 232C of said
Article and authorizing the County Commissioners to
provide financial assistance toward the purchase of an
ambulance to be used in Harford County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and the same is hereby
added to Article 13 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title, "Harford County", sub-title, "County Com-
