manner as to interfere with its use by the owner or oc-
cupant.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 546.

(Senate Bill 438)

AN ACT to authorize the Board of Public Works and the
Chairman of the Board of Regents of the University of
Maryland to convey to the State of Maryland to the use
of the State Roads Commission, its successors and
assigns certain land and easement rights at College
Park, in Prince George's County needed for highway
purposes, now owned by the State of Maryland for the
use of the University of Maryland.

WHEREAS, the State Roads Commission is about to re-
locate University Lane through the property now owned
by the State of Maryland for the use of the University
of Maryland, at College Park; in Prince George's County,
as a part of the State's system of highways, and

WHEREAS, the Board of Regents of the University of
Maryland at its meeting of September 20, 1940, entered
into an agreement with the State Roads Commission
whereby said Commission was empowered insofar as the
Board of Regents of the University of Maryland had the
authority so to do, to construct the highway through the
lands of the University of Maryland, and

WHEREAS, the Board of Regents further agreed to assist
in securing an enabling Act at the 1941 session of the
Maryland Legislature empowering the conveyance to the
State of Maryland to the use of the State Roads Commis-
sion, its successors and assigns, the necessary land and
easements for the highway construction through the prop-
erty of the University of Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Board of Public Works and the Chair-
man of the Board of Regents of the University of Mary-
