SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That if any provi-
sion of this Act or the application thereof to any person
or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the Act
and the application of such provisions to other persons or
circumstances shall not be affected thereby.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 488.
(Senate Bill 208)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
22 of Article >64A of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1939 Edition), title "Merit System", providing that
Saturdays shall be construed to be one-half day in deter-
mining the number of days of vacation and sick leave.

CHAPTER 489.
(Senate Bill 210)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 72 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Oysters",
sub-title "Dredging", said new section to be known as
Section 24A and to follow immediately after Section 24
of said Article, to prohibit dredging on Three Sisters
and Holland's Point Bars, and between said Bars all on
the western side of Chesapeake Bay and authorizing
tonging on said bars during the open season.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added
to Article 72 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Oysters", sub-title "Dredging", said new
section to be known as Section 24A, to follow immediately
after Section 24 of said Article, and to read as follows:

24A. It shall be unlawful to dredge for oysters on Three
Sisters Bar and Holland's Point Bar, and between said
