SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That in addition to the police officers provided for Prince
George's County by Chapter 50 of the Acts of the General As-
sembly of 1937 and by Chapter 542 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1939, the Police Commissioners of Prince George's
County are authorized and directed to appoint three (3) ad-
ditional police officers and two (2) additional desk clerks for
the Prince George's County Police force, such additional police
officers to be appointed after having taken examination in the
same manner as provided by Chapter 50 of the Acts of 1937
for appointments to such force, to receive the salaries estab-
lished f or officers of the same rank as is provided by said Chap-
ter 50 of the Acts of 1937 or as provided by law amendatory
thereto, to be subject to the probationary periods, and in all
other respects to be subject to the provisions thereof as if they
had originally been appointed under the provisions of said
Chapter 50 of the Acts of 1937.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 476.

(Senate Bill 52)

AN ACT to add 11 new sections to Article 83 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Sales and Notices",
said new sections to be known as Sections 135 to 145, in-
clusive, to be under a new sub-title "Finance Companies and
Investigations", and to follow immediately at the end of
said Article, conferring certain powers on the Administrator
of Loan Laws with respect to instalment agreements, pro-
viding for the licensing of those engaged in the sales finance
business, and regulating their privileges and duties.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That 11 new sections be and they are hereby added to
Article 83 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition),
title "Sales and Notices", said new sections to be known as
Sections 135 to 145, inclusive, to be under a new sub-title
"Finance Companies and Investigations", and to follow imme-
diately at the end of said Article, and to read as follows:

FINANCE COMPANIES AND INVESTIGATIONS.

135. Licenses. No person, except a banking institution
shall engage in the business of a sales finance company in this
