CHAPTER 474.
(House Bill 646)
AN ACT to authorize the Police Commissioners of Prince
George's County to formulate and adopt a pension or re-
tirement plan for the members of the Prince George's Coun-
ty Police force and providing for the payment by the County
Commissioners for such sum as may be necessary to ef-
fectuate such plan.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Police Commissioners of Prince George's Coun-
ty are authorized to formulate and adopt a pension or retire-
ment plan for the members of the Prince George's County
Police force, including the Superintendent, Sergeants, Cor-
porals, officers and desk clerks thereof, including the right to
contract with any established insurance company or insurance
companies for a group, annuity, retirement or pension plan,
and to provide for a contribution of County funds of so much
thereto as they may deem equitable, or be required to pay
tinder any contract.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That whenever the Po-
lice Commissioners of Prince George's County shall have
adopted a pension or retirement plan for the members of the
Prince George's County Police force, as authorized by Section
1 hereof, and shall have provided for a contribution of County
funds thereto, the Board of County Commissioners of Prince
George's County is authorized, empowered and directed to pay
from County funds such sum as may have been provided by
said Police Commissioners to be contributed to such pension
or retirement plan and the said Board of County Commis-
sioners is authorized, empowered and directed to levy for such
purpose each and every year such sum or sums as may be nec-
essary to carry out the purpose and intent of this Act.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

AN ACT to provide for three (3) additional police officers and
two (2) additional desk clerks for the Prince George's Coun-
ty Police force.
