Duplicate licenses shall be supplied by the Commissioner
of Motor Vehicles for fifty cents each in case where he is
satisfied the original has been lost. The Commissioner of
Motor Vehicles shall have authority, in disputed cases, to
determine the kind of license to which any applicant may be
entitled.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
become effective October 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 52.
(Senate Bill 36)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 23
of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Health", sub-title "State Registrar of Vital
Statistics".

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 23 of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Health", sub-title "State
Registrar of Vital Statistics", be and the same is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, so as to read, as
follows:

23. The State Board of Health is hereby authorized and
empowered to adopt rules and regulations governing the filing
of records of births in those cases where certificates of birth
have not been recorded within the time limited by Section 21
of this Article.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on June 1, 1941.
