thereto, during the times specified in Sub-section (3), the
driver shall use a distribution of light or composite beam
directed high enough and of sufficient intensity to reveal per-
sons and vehicles at a safe distance in advance of the vehicle,
subject to the following requirements and limitations.

(b) Whenever the driver of a vehicle approaches an on-
coming vehicle within five hundred (500) feet, except on dual
highways, such driver shall depress, dim or use a distribution
of light and composite beam so aimed that the glaring rays
are not projected into the eyes of the oncoming driver while
such driver is approaching, and in no case shall the high in-
tensity portion, which is projected to the left of the prolonga-
tion of the extreme left side of the vehicle, be aimed higher
than the center of the lamp from which it comes at a distance
of twenty-five (25) feet ahead, and in no case higher than a
level of forty-two (42) inches above the level upon which the
vehicle stands at a distance of seventy-five (75) feet ahead.
Any person violating the provisions of this sub-section shall
upon conviction, be subject to a fine of not more than one dol-
lar ($1. 00) for the first offense and not less than five dollars
($5. 00) nor more than twenty-five dollars ($25. 00) for each
subsequent offense.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 424.
(House Bill 487)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Crimes and Punish-
ments", sub-title "Gaming", said new section to be known as
Section 302A, to follow immediately after Section 302 of
said Article, relating to the game of bingo in Frederick
County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Gaming", said new sec-
tion to be known as Section 302A, to follow immediately after
Section 302 of said Article and to read as follows:

302A. (a) Nothing in this sub-title shall be construed to make
it unlawful for any bona fide fraternal, religious, patriotic,
