SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 15 of Article 99 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Water Fowl—Birds and
Game", sub-title, "Hunter's License", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
15. For the purpose of providing a fund for the payment
of the expense of protecting and propagating certain birds and
-animals, and preventing unauthorized persons from killing
the same, no person or persons shall at any time hunt, pur-
sue, catch, kill, trap, shoot or attempt to hunt, pursue, catch,
kill, trap or shoot in any manner any game birds or animals
on which there is an open and closed season, without first hav-
ing procured a license so to hunt, pursue, catch, kill, trap,
shoot, or attempt to hunt, catch, kill, trap or shoot, and then
only during the respective periods of the year, when it shall
be lawful to hunt, pursue, catch, kill, trap, shoot or attempt
to hunt, pursue, catch, kill, trap or shoot said birds and
animals. The said license shall be procured from the Clerk
of the Circuit Court of any county, or from the Clerk of
the Court of Common Pleas of Baltimore City, and in
addition thereto may be issued by such person or persons
as the State Game Warden may designate on forms pre-
pared and supplied by the State Game Warden in the fol-
lowing manner, to wit:
The applicant shall fill out, sign and forward to the Clerk
of the Court a blank application to be furnished by the
Game Warden through the clerks of said courts, stating the
name, age, color, height, color of eyes and hair, occupation
and place of residence of the applicant; application for any
such license may be made through the mails. The applicant,
if a non-resident of the State of Maryland, shall pay to the
Clerk of the Court in which he files his or her application,
the sum of Fifteen Dollars and Fifty Cents ($15. 50) as a
license fee. The applicant, if a non-resident of the State of
Maryland, shall pay to the Clerk of the Court or other person
with whom he flies his or her application the sum of Five
Dollars and Fifty cents ($5. 50) as a license fee for a short-
term non-resident license valid for the hunting of wild water-
fowl only, which license shall be valid for four (4) days only
after the date of issuance, and said licensee shall mail or de-
liver said license and tag within three (3) days after the
-expiration thereof to the State Game Warden for cancellation
under a penalty of Twenty Dollars ($20. 00) and costs for
