court or the defendant shall have the right before entry of
judgment, to demand the production of the original cause
of action.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1941.

(Senate Bill 357)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 56 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Licenses",
sub-title "Rules of the Road", said new section to be
known as Section 239A and to follow immediately after
Section 239 of said Article, relating to obedience to offi-
cial traffic control devices.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edi-
tion), title "Licenses", sub-title "Rules of the Road", said
new section to be known as Section 239A, to follow imme-
diately after Section 239 of said Article, and to read as
follows:
239A. (a) The State Roads Commission shall place and
maintain such traffic control devices, conforming to its
manual and specifications, upon all State highways as it
deems necessary, to regulate, warn or guide traffic.
(b) In addition to the observance of the regular green,
red and amber signals, the following signals shall be ob-
served when installed: Flashing signals: Whenever flash-
ing red or amber signals are used they shall require
obedience by vehicular traffic as follows:
(1) Flashing red (stop signal). When a red lens is
illuminated by rapid intermittent flashes, drivers of all ve-
hicles shall stop before entering the nearest crosswalk at
: an intersection or at a limit line when marked, and the
right to proceed shall be subject to the rules applicable
after making a stop at a stop sign.
(2) Flashing amber (caution signal). When an amber
lens is illuminated by rapid intermittent flashes, drivers
of all vehicles may proceed through the intersection or
pass such signal only with caution.
