cation, and to this end the provisions of this Act are de-
clared to be severable.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That Section 13 of
Article 50 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edi-
tion), title "Joint Obligations and Joint Tenancy", sub-title
"Joint Obligations" be and it is hereby repealed; and that
all other laws or parts of laws inconsistent with the pro-
visions of this Act be and they are hereby repealed to the
extent of such inconsistency.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1st, 1941.

CHAPTER 345.

(Senate Bill 284)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections
248 and 252 of Article 12 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Garrett Coun-
ty", sub-title "Kitzmillersville", and to add two new sec-
tions to said Article, said new sections to be known
respectively, as Sections 256A and 260A, to follow imme-
diately after Sections 256 and 260, of said Article respec-
tively, relating to the selection and terms of office of the
Mayor, Councilmen and Tax Collector of Kitzmillers-
ville; and relating to the power of the Mayor and Council
of Kitzmillersville to borrow money and pay interest
thereon, in certain cases.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 248 and 252 of Article 12 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Garrett County", sub-title "Kitzmillersville", be and
they are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments,
and that two new sections to be known, respectively, as
Sections 256A and 260A, to follow immediately after
Sections 256 and 260, respectively, of said Article, and all
to read as follows:

248. Said corporation shall be governed by a Mayor,
whose term of office shall be for two years from the date
of his election, or until his successor shall be duly elected
and qualified, and six Councilmen, whose terms of office
