the sheriff he shall charge only one-fourth of the poundage fees
aforesaid and if upon personal property and the same be not
sold by the sheriff, he shall charge only one-half of the pound-
age fees aforesaid. Provided, however, that in addition to the
above fees, the sheriff of Baltimore City and the Sheriff of Bal-
timore County shall receive for his services in serving each
writ of fieri facias a fee of one dollar and fifteen cents ($1. 15),
and the clerk of the court shall not issue said writ until the
person, firm or corporation ordering the issuance of the same
shall pay said fee to said clerk, which fee shall be paid to the
sheriff when said writ is delivered to him.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 315.

(House Bill 308)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 7 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Car-
roll County", sub-title "Union Bridge", said new section
to be known as Section 461A and to follow immediately
after Section 461 of said Article, relating to the powers of
the Mayor and Common Council of the Town of Union
Bridge.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
7 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Carroll County", sub-title "Union Bridge", said
new section to be known as Section 461A, to follow immedi-
ately after Section 461 of said Article, and to read as follows:

461A. No use shall be made of the streets, roads, or alleys
of the Town of Union Bridge by any individual, organization
or corporation for the purpose of a railroad, tramway, tele-
graph or telephone lines, electric light or power lines, electric,
gas or water subways, conduits or pipe lines without the con-
sent of the Mayor and Common Council, and subject to such
franchise tax and regulations as they may, by ordinance,
prescribe; provided that this section shall apply only to such
permits or franchises as may hereafter be granted.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.
