CHAPTER 311.
(House Bill 618)

AN ACT to add two new sections to Article 2 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Anne Arundel County", sub-title "Justices of the Peace
and Constables", said new sections to be known as Sec-
tions 353A and 353B, and to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 353 of said Article, relating to the transmission of
papers in preliminary hearings and appeals in criminal
cases from and before Trial Magistrates in Anne Arundel
County.

CHAPTER 312.
(House Bill 185)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 77 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Public Education",
sub-title "Chapter 17. High Schools", said new section to
be known as Section 191A, to follow immediately after
Section 191 of said Article, relating to instruction in the
High Schools of the Counties in the safe driving of motor
vehicles.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be, and it is hereby added to Article
77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Public Education", sub-title "Chapter 17. High Schools",
said new section to be known as Section 191A, to follow im-
mediately after Section 191 of said Article to read as follows:

191 A. (1) It shall be optional with the Board of Education
of the several counties to offer instruction in the safe operation
of motor vehicles in the county high schools to students thereof
who have attended secondary schools for at least two years.

(2) Each County Board of Education shall determine
whether such course shall be an elective or a required course.

(3) The State Board of Education shall determine what
credit, if any, shall be allowed to successful students of such
course; and, except as hereinafter set forth, said Board shall,
in collaboration with the Superintendent of the Department
of Maryland State Police, prescribe the requirements of said
course.
