the end of the County road at the property of Mr. John
Whittington to the property of Mr. James Rogers at
Deale.
WHEREAS, The County Commissioners are not author-
ized to maintain a road less than thirty feet wide, therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Anne Arun-
del County be and they are hereby authorized to take over
and maintain the twenty-foot road running from the end
of the County road at the property of Mr. John Whitting-
ton and running approximately 125 yards to the property
of Mr. James Rogers at Deale in the Seventh Election
District.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1st, 1941.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
293 of Article 14, Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (Ed. 1930), title "Howard County'', sub-title
"Sheriff", providing for an increase in the salaries of
deputy sheriffs.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 293 of Article 14, Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (Ed. 1930), title "Howard
County", sub-title "Sheriff", be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
293. Sheriff of Howard County shall receive an annual
salary of fifteen hundred dollars from and after the first
day of May, 1908, to be paid him in monthly installments
of one hundred and twenty-five dollars ($125. 00) by the
County Commissioners of Howard County, and the said
County Commissioners shall pay to the Sheriff, upon the
presentation of proper vouchers the actual car fare or team
hire incurred by the Sheriff or his deputies in conducting
any prisoner to an institution to which he has been com-
