SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 199.
(Senate Bill 271)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
62 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1939 Edition), title "Elections", sub-title "Registra-
tion", as said section was enacted by Chapter 128 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1939, said
amendments clarifying the meaning of said section by
showing that its provisions are intended to apply to all
registration books in the County and not only to those
which have been recopied.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 62 of Article 3, 3 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title Elections", sub-
title "Registration", be and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:

62. It shall be the duty of the Board of Registry in each
precinct of Harford County when it sits as a Board of
Review, as provided under the provisions of this Article, to
strike from the registration books of the respective pre-
cincts the names of all persons registered on said books
who have not voted at least once at a primary, general or
special election for six years prior to the date of the sitting
of said Board of Review and such persons so stricken from
said books shall be given the same notice as those stricken
therefrom, for other causes, under the provisions of this
Article.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws or
parts of laws, either general or local, and particularly any
provisions of Article 33 of the Code of Public General
Laws, inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, be and
the same are hereby repealed to the extent of their incon-
sistency.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
