SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That any law, or part
thereof, inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, be and
they are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That no law, or part
thereof, hereafter enacted shall repeal this Act, or any part
thereof, unless said law, or part thereof, expressly refers to
this Act, or any part thereof.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 170.
(House Bill 231)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
140 of Article 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Frederick County, " sub-title
"County Commissioners", sub-heading "Building Permits",
relating to the issuance of building permits.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 140 of Article 11 of the Code of Public Lo-
cal Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Frederick
County", sub-title "County Commissioners", sub-heading
"Building Permits", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments to read as follows:
140. All persons and corporations, before erecting, or re-
pairing any building in Frederick County at an expense of two
hundred and fifty dollars or more, shall be required to give
dimensions and estimated cost and secure a permit in writing
from the Board of Assessment of Frederick County before
starting said work. All permits shall be issued free of cost.
Any person or corporation failing to comply with this section
shall, upon conviction, be fined not less than ten dollars nor
more than one hundred dollars and costs for each offense.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.
