HERBERT R. O'CONOR, GOVERNOR. 2051
Chapter 849, and was signed by me on April 15th and is now
effective. Inasmuch as Senate Bill No. 305 would duplicate
the provision already made in the Bill which is now law, I
have concluded to veto it, which action on my part is agreeable
to its sponsor.
Chapter 452 (House Bill 87). This Bill duplicates a portion
of Chapter 849 (Senate Bill 45), already signed, which latter
Bill was more general in its scope.
The Board of License Commissioners of Baltimore City
point out that no purpose would be served in signing this Bill
after the enactment of the general measure and, hence, House
Bill 87 is vetoed.
Chapter 625 (House Bill 52). Inasmuch as Senate Bill
No. 298, which was an Administration measure divorcing the
State Accident Fund from the State Industrial Accident Com-
mission, hag been signed, it is unnecessary to have House Bill
No. 52 in effect as the provisions made in the latter Bill are
taken care of in the general statute providing for the new
set-up.
The Chairman of the State Industrial Accident Commission
advises that the signing of the second bill is unnecessary and,
therefore, I shall veto it.
Chapter 517 (Senate Bill 338). This measure is covered by
Chapter 333 (House Bill 446) which is already signed (see
Attorney General's opinion, April 26, 1941, page 2).
The Senator introducing this measure agrees that it should
be vetoed in view of the other enactment.
Chapter 130 (Senate Bill 281). This measure conflicts with
Chapter 443 (Senate Bill 434) which has already been signed.
The Attorney General states that Chapter 130 should be vetoed
in order to avoid complication.
Chapter 212 (Senate Bill 62). This Bill is inconsistent with
Chapter 84 (Senate Bill 101) which has already been approved.
The Attorney General advises that since the two Bills are
inconsistent, Chapter 84 is the more important, and therefore,
he suggests that Chapter 212 be vetoed.
Chapter 160 (House Bill 312). This Bill is covered by a
State-wide Bill dealing with the same subject matter; see
Chapter 469. The State Law Department advises that Chapter
160 would therefore be a duplicate and should be vetoed as
unnecessary.
