2050 VETOES.
adjournment of the General Assembly. The Attorney General
suggests that the measure in question (chapter 116, House
Bill 45), be vetoed, which I am now doing.
Chapter 232 (Senate Bill 258). The subject matter of this
Bill is covered by Senate Bill 515 which has already been
signed and is now Chapter 601.
Inasmuch as this measure would simply duplicate the pro-
vision already passed and approved, I will veto this measure.
The State Law Department has advised me officially that a
number of Bills passed the recent session of the Legislature,
are duplicates of other Bills already signed by me since the
adjournment of the Legislature. Inasmuch as the same subject
matter is already covered in the chapters now signed, and
which are now thereby the law of the State, I am vetoing the
duplicate Bills in accordance with the suggestion of the
Attorney General. The duplicate Bills now being vetoed are
as follows:
Chapter 237 (House Bill 323), providing for divorce in
insanity cases.
Chapter 876 (Senate Bill 458), granting additional powers
to aid housing projects of Housing Authorities.
Chapter 691 (House Bill 717), pertaining to rentals for
housing projects of Housing Authorities.
Chapter 530 (Senate Bill 409), authorizing the State Roads
Commission to maintain the "Stephen Decatur Memorial
Road. "
Chapter 652 (House Bill 496), authorizing Allegany County
Commissioners to open Flat Rock Bridge.
Chapter 400 (House Bill 37). The Insurance Commissioner
explains that the provisions of House Bill No. 37 are unneces-
sary, in view of the provisions already made in the Administra-
tion Bill covering this same subject, as well as improving the
Insurance Laws in other respects.
Therefore, because of the fact that, the matter is sufficiently
taken care of otherwise, I am vetoing House Bill No. 37.
Chapter 346 (Senate Bill 305). This Bill was introduced
for the purpose of modifying the pre-existing" requirement
which disqualified persons convicted of certain offenses from
receiving liquor licenses.
The identical language contained in Senate Bill No. 305
was also incorporated in Senate Bill No. 45, which became
