lowing meaning, unless the context in which they are used
clearly indicates a different meaning:
(a) The words "Mayor and Council" and "municipality"
shall mean the municipal corporation of the State of Mary-
land known as the Mayor and Council of Crisfield, and if at
any time hereafter the corporate title of said municipality
shall be changed in any way, said references shall neverthe-
less apply to said municipal corporation under its changed
title;
(b) the words "Mayor" and "Council" shall apply to the
chief executive officer and the legislative body of said munici-
pality respectively, as the same may now or may hereafter be
formally titled or designated;
(c) The words "municipal electric light and power system"
shall mean the electric light and power generating plant and
distribution system, the construction, maintenance and op-
eration of which is herein authorized, including, but without
limitation, all land, leases, buildings, equipment, machinery,
turbines, engines, whether powered by gasoline, coal, oil or
other substance, poles, wire, conduits, tools, accessories,
meters, appliances and other property and facilities necessary
or advisable in the opinion of the Mayor and Council to the
production of electric power and energy, its transmission to
all points of consumption, and the determination and collec-
tion of the charges therefor, together with the lamps and
other facilities required for the purpose of lighting the streets,
lanes, alleys, public places and public buildings of and in the
City of Crisfield.
(d) The term "cost of construction" shall embrace and in-
clude the cost of establishing and constructing or purchasing
the municipal electric light and power system above defined,
the cost of all lands, properties, rights, easements and fran-
chises acquired, the cost of all machinery and equipment,
financing charges, interest prior to and during construction
and for one year after completion of construction, cost of en-
gineering and of legal expenses, plans, specifications, surveys,
estimates of cost and of revenues, and other expenses neces-
sary or incident to the determination of the feasibility or
practicability of any such municipal electric light and power
system, administrative expense, and such other expenses as
may be necessary or incident to the financing herein author-
ized, to the construction of a municipal electric light and
power system, and the placing of the same in operation, the
amount of any award in proceedings for the condemnation
of property necessary to the construction and operation of
said municipal electric light and power system.
