coal briquettes, boulets, coke, gas house coke, petroleum coke,
petroleum carbon or any other manufactured or patented fuel
not sold by liquid or metered measure except charcoal.
(b) The term "Person" shall mean and include an individual
partnership, association of individuals or corporation.
(c) The term "Retail Coal Trader" shall mean and include
any person who engages in the business of either selling or
transporting coal in Baltimore County to consumers in Bal-
timore County or acts as a broker in such transactions or
business in Baltimore County.
(d) Personal pronouns shall embrace all genders.
(e) The singular number shall include the plural, and the
plural shall include the singular.
786. All persons who act as Retail Coal Traders in Balti-
timore County must have a license. Such license shall be
known as "A Retail Coal Trader's License" and shall be issued
to each person who engages in the business of retail coal
trader in said county. Such license shall authorize each per-
son who is a retail coal trader to act as a broker, seller, agent,
or transporter of coal to retail consumers within the limits of
Baltimore County. Any person who shall act as a retail coal
trader in said County without a license shall be guilty of a
violation of this sub-title.
787. All applications for licenses shall be made to the Clerk
of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County, and all licenses
shall be issued by said Clerk. All applications shall be made
on a form to be supplied to said Clerk by the County Com-
missioners of Baltimore County and shall contain the follow-
ing information: (1) Name and business address of the appli-
cant; (2) Purpose for which said license is desired; (3) Num-
ber of transporting vehicles owned, titled and licensed in the
name of the applicant to be used in the retail coal business,
if any; (4) License numbers of same; (5) Motor and serial
numbers of same; (6) Type and make of such vehicles; (7)
Name of surety offered as required hereunder. All informa-
tion contained in said applications shall be deemed necessary
and essential and each application shall be accompanied by an
application fee in the amount of $1. 00. Any applicant who
shall knowingly file or cause to be filed any false information
upon an application shall be guilty of a violation of this sub-
title.
788. Before any such license as herein provided, shall be
issued every applicant applying for such a license shall make,
execute and deliver to the County Commissioners of Baltimore
County a good and sufficient bond with surety to be approved
by said Commissioners. Such bond shall be in the name of
