the same were repealed and re-enacted by Chapter 342
of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of
1939 and to enact in lieu thereof Sections 55 to 68 inclu-
sive, of said Article.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 55 to 71 of Article Eleven of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland entitled "Frederick
County" sub-title "Burkittsville" as the same were re-
pealed and re-enacted by Chapter 342 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1939 be and the same are hereby
repealed and that Sections 55 to 68 inclusive, of said
Article be enacted in lieu thereof to read as follows:
55. The citizens of the town of Burkittsville, in Fred-
erick County, are hereby constituted a body corporate by
the name of "Burgess and Commissioners of Burkittsville"
and by that name may sue and be sued, have and use a
common seal.
56. The corporate limits of said town shall be as fol-
lows: Beginning at the fork of the Burkittsville-Gapland-
Locust Valley Road which lies four-tenth miles northwest
of the Square in Burkittsville; thence northeast to crest of
Red Hill, where dividing line separates the properties of
John S. Zecker and Edgar Y. Shafer, and which point lies
fifty-five hundredth miles from the Square in Burkittsville;
thence southeast to the point where the Old Mill Lane joins
the Burkittsville-Jefferson road, which point is eight-tenth
mile from Square in Burkittsville; thence southwest to the
point where the Samuel Ausherman Farm Lane meets the
Burkittsville-Brunswick pike, which point lies four-tenth
miles from the Square of Burkittsville; thence northward
to the point of beginning which is the fork of Gapland-
Locust Valley-Burkittsville road.
57. The citizens of Burkittsville of the age of twenty-
one years and upward, who shall have resided in said town
for six months next preceding the election, shall on the
first Monday in June in the year 1941 and every three
years thereafter elect a Burgess and three Commissioners
who shall be known as the Board of Commissioners, all of
whom shall be freeholders over twenty-five years of age
and shall have resided in said town for six months next
preceding said election, to serve for three years from the
first Monday in June after their election. Said elections
shall be held at such hours, at such place or places, and in
conformity with such rules and regulations as may from
lime to time be provided for by ordinance not inconsistent
