CHAPTER 910.
(House Bill 440)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Prince George's County", to be under sub-title "Hog
Pens", said new section to be known as Section 474A and
to follow immediately after Section 474 of said Article, re-
lating to the location of hog pens in Prince George's County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Prince George's County", to be under sub-title
"Hog Pens", said new section to be known as Section 474A,
to follow immediately after Section 474 of said Article, and to
read as follows:
HOG PENS.
474A. For the purposes of and as used in this section, the
term "hog pen" shall mean any building, shed, barn or pen
where one or more swine are kept and fed.
No hog pen shall be established, maintained or operated in
Prince George's County within three hundred (300) feet of
any residence or place of business, public highway, public
school or public building, except the residence or place of
business of the operator thereof, his tenant, his agent or his
employee.
Any person violating1 the provisions of this section shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction there*
of, shall be punished by a fine of not less than five dollars
($5. 00) nor more than fifty dollars ($50. 00), or by imprison-
ment in the county jail for a period not exceeding thirty (30)
days, or may be both fined and imprisoned in the discretion
of the Court, and each day's violation thereof shall constitute
a separate offense.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect April 1, 1942.
