contracts of any notice of filing said maps and statements pro-
vided for in Subsection (a) hereof.

(h) This Section shall not apply to the furnishing of elec-
tric energy to manufacturing, processing or industrial enter-
prises or to buildings necessary and appropriate to the opera-
tion of said enterprise, including residences, nor to the solici-
tation of such electric service, nor to the construction of
through high voltage transmission lines not intended to serve
individual rural customers in the area or areas shown on said
maps; provided that nothing in this section contained shall
be construed as restricting the right of filing corporation to
serve manufacturing, processing or industrial enterprises.

491. Exemption of Evidences of Indebtedness, Membership
Certificates and Other Securities from Registration Pro-
visions. The provisions of Article 32A, Sections 11 and 13,
inclusive, of the 1939 Code of Public General Laws of Mary-
land shall not apply to any note, bond or other evidence of
indebtedness issued by any cooperative or foreign corporation
doing business in this State pursuant to this subheading to
United States of America or any agency or instrumentality
thereof, or to any mortgage, deed of trust or other instrument
executed to secure the same. The provisions of said sections
shall not apply to the issuance of membership certificates by
any cooperative or any such foreign corporation.

492. Construction of Sub-heading. This sub-heading shall be
construed liberally. The enumeration of any object, purpose,
power, manner, method, or thing shall not be deemed to ex-
clude like or similar objects, purposes, powers, manners,
methods or things.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That if any provision of
this Act, or the application of such provision to any person or
circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the Act and the
application of such provisions to other persons or circum-
stances shall not be affected thereby.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.
