said note or notes, and providing for a Building Com-
mittee to erect and equip said auditorium.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That for the purpose of erecting and equipping
an auditorium for the school building at Accident and for
the erection of a one-room school building at Hutton, the
County Commissioners of Garrett County are hereby
authorized and directed to borrow on the faith and credit
of Garrett County the sum of forty thousand dollars
($40, 000) or so much thereof as may be necessary, and
to issue a note or notes therefor, from time to time in
such amounts as may be deemed necessary by the Building
Committee hereinafter named and the County Board of
Education, and when so requested by said Committee
and/or Board of Education in order to provide for the
construction work hereinabove authorized. The County
Commissioners shall borrow the money on the note or
notes at the lowest rate of interest possible.
Thirty-eight thousand dollars ($38, 000) of the money
so borrowed shall be set aside for the payment of the bill
or bills as approved from time to time by the Building
Committee and two thousand dollars ($2, 000) of said
money shall be set aside for the payment of the bill or bills
as approved by the County Board of Education from time
to time. The County Commissioners of Garrett County
shall order the payment of the bills as thus approved by
the Building Committee and the Board of Education,
respectively.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That Frank Spoer-
lein, Henry Harmon, Adam Richter, Henry Speicher and
William Miller be and they are hereby appointed a Build-
ing Committee for the purposes and with the powers herein
set forth. The members of said Committee shall hold office
from the date of the passage of this Act until the comple-
tion of the work authorized herein. The said Committee
shall organize and elect a Chairman and Secretary from
its members and all of said members shall serve without
compensation.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That said Committee
shall have plans prepared for an auditorium to the school at
Accident, and shall have full power to enter into a contract
for the erection and equipment of same but the plans for
said auditorium shall be subject to the approval of the
State Superintendent of Schools as provided by Section 30
of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition).
