Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Licenses", sub-title "Motor
Vehicles", sub-heading "Speed, Size, Weight, Construction
and Equipment of Motor Vehicles", relating to brakes on
motor vehicles.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That sub-section (h) of Section 196 of Article 56 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Licenses",
sub-title "Motor Vehicles", sub-heading "Speed, Size, Weight,
Construction and Equipment of Motor Vehicles", be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read as
follows:
196.
(h) Under the above conditions the hand or parking brake
shall be adequate to stop such vehicle or vehicles within a
distance of fifty-five (55) feet and said hand or parking brake
shall be adequate to hold such vehicle or vehicles stationary
on any grade upon which operated.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 903.
(House Bill 484)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Prince George's County", to be under new sub-title "Road-
side Control", said new section to be known as Section 897C
and to follow immediately after Section 897B of said Article,
relating to billboards and advertising along certain roads
in Prince George's County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Prince George's County", to be under new sub-
title "Roadside Control", said new section to be known as Sec-
tion 897C, to follow immediately after Section 897B of said
Article, and to read as follows:
