distant three hundred (300) feet from the southwesterly side
thereof and paralleling said Pike to the District of Columbia
line and thence with said District of Columbia line to the
Marlboro Pike and thence with the Marlboro Pike to the
point of beginning, and also all of that part of Spauldings
District on both sides of the so-called Mayhew Road (said road
running from Suitland to intersect the County Road from
Meadows to Red's Corner), for a distance of three hundred
(300) feet on either side of said road, eastwardly one (1) mile
from the southeast corner of the intersection of the said May-
hew Road with the road running from the Marlboro Pike to
Silver Hill, and also all of that part of Oxon Hill District
described as follows: Beginning at the three hundred (300)
foot line south of the Southern Maryland Pike, or the Walker
Road, at a distance of one-half (1/2) mile measured on said line
from the District of Columbia Line; and thence running south-
westerly paralleling the District of Columbia Line and equi-
distant from said line one-half (1/2) mile, to the East Bank of
the Potomac River; and thence with said East Bank to the
District of Columbia Line; thence with said District of Colum-
bia Line northeastwardly to the said three hundred (300) foot
line south of the Southern Maryland Pike (Walker Road) and
thence with said three hundred foot line to the place of be-
ginning, be and the same is hereby incorporated to be known
as the "Prince George's County Regional District. "
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That for the purpose of
carrying out the provisions of this Act, said Regional District
shall be under the jurisdiction of the Maryland-National
Capital Park and Planning Commission, as created by said
Chapter 448 of the Acts of 1927, which Commission is here-
after referred to as "the Commission. "
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the Commission is
hereby authorized and empowered to make and adopt and,
from time to time, amend a general plan for the physical
development of said Regional District. Such plan shall show
the Commissioners recommendations, including, among other
things, the location, arrangement, character and extent of
roads, waterways, parks, public and semi-public buildings,
public utilities, conservation and community projects, and
which development shall further provide a zoning plan for the
regulation of height, area, bulk, location and uses of buildings
and the uses of land, and other factors of urban, suburban,
rural and regional planning. Such plan shall, from time to
time, as developed, be submitted to the public, at a public
hearing, after proper notice, and thereafter the Commission
may amend, extend or vary its plan as it deems advisable.
