penalty for the failure to observe such stop signs and other
traffic signals of a similar nature. The violation of any
ordinance passed under this authorization shall constitute a
misdemeanor and shall be punishable by fine not to exceed
$100. 00, or imprisonment not to exceed six months, or both,
in the discretion of the Court.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 795
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Montgomery County
(1939 Edition), the same being Article 16 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery County",
sub-title "Police", relating to the retirement of members of
the Montgomery County Police, and relating to the payment
of certain of the funeral expenses of any deceased member
of the Montgomery County Police.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 795 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Montgomery County (1939 Edition), the same being Article 16
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Mont-
gomery County", sub-title "Police", be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
"795. Whenever any member of the Montgomery County
Police shall become so permanently disabled through injury
received or disease contracted in line of duty so as to in-
capacitate him for duty, or having served not less than twenty-
five years, he shall make written application for retirement and
if the said application shall be approved by the Police Trial
Board of Montgomery County, or having reached the age of
sixty years, he shall in either event be retired from the service
of the Montgomery County Police, and shall be entitled to
receive relief from the said Police Relief and Retirement
Fund in an amount not to exceed fifty per centum per year
of the salary received by him at the date of retirement. In
case of the death of any member of the Police Department
before or after retirement from the service thereof, leaving
a widow, or a child or children under sixteen years of age,
