1452 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 826

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and the same is hereby added to
Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition),
title "Governor—Executive and Administrative Departments",
sub-title "Hall of Records Commission", said new section to
follow immediately after Section 127 of said Article to be
known as Section 127A, and to read as follows:

127A. If the Commission shall decline to accept any original
papers, official books, records, documents or files, offered to it
under the provisions of Section 127, then the custodian thereof,
with the written approval of the Board of Public Works, is
authorized and empowered to destroy the same, after filing
with the Hall of Records a list of all papers, books, documents
and files to be destroyed. Such lists shall be retained in the
custody of the Archivist and shall be available at reasonable
times to inspection by the members of the public. Nothing in
this section shall authorize the destruction of (a) papers,
books, documents or files which have been in custody for a
period of less than five years, or such other period as may
be expressly prescribed by statute, (b) permanent books of
account, (c) the records of any Court of record in this State,
or (d) public records required by statute to be maintained
permanently.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 826.
(House Bill 869)

AN ACT to add a new section to the Code of Public Local
Laws of Montgomery County (1939 Edition), being Article
16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
"Montgomery County", sub-title "Montgomery County
Suburban District", said new section to be known as Section
712A and to follow immediately after Section 712 of said
Article, relating to "Emergency No Parking" zones within
the Suburban District.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to the Code
of Public Local Laws of Montgomery County (1939 Edition),
being Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
