Article, providing for the licensing of hawkers and peddlers
in Anne Arundel County and charging a larger fee for such
license than heretofore, and providing for certain exceptions
therefrom, and providing for the disposition of said license
fees.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 301 and 302 of Article 2 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne
Arundel County", sub-title "Hawkers and Peddlers", as the
said sections were enacted by Chapter 608 of the Acts of
1939, be and the same are hereby repealed, and two new sec-
tions are enacted in lieu thereof, said new sections to be
known as Sections 301 and 302, and to follow immediately
after Section 300 of said Article and to read as follows:

301. For licenses issued to hawkers and peddlers in Anne
Arundel County, the fee shall be f 100. 00 per year,

302. (a) No person, firm, corporation, or association by its
officers, agents, or employees, or by himself or herself, shall
sell, barter, or trade or offer or expose for sale, barter, or trade
in or upon any street or highway in Anne Arundel County,
or go from house to house, either on foot or with horse, or
with other beast of burden, or with a wagon, or with motor
vehicle, or any other conveyance, whatsoever, upon the streets
or highways of Anne Arundel County selling, bartering, or
trading, or offering to sell, barter, or trade, or shall sell, barter
or trade, or offer to sell, barter, or trade in Anne Arundel Coun-
ty any products, goods, wares, or merchandise whatsoever,
without having previously obtained a license from the clerk of
the Circuit Court of Anne Arundel County for such purpose
as provided in Section 301 of this Article, which license shall
particularly describe the licensee thereof and the purpose for
which it was issued and which shall expire on the thirtieth
day of April next following the day of issuance of any said
license.

(b) Whenever any license shall have been issued for the
use by the licensee of any vehicle, whether horse-drawn, motor-
driven, or otherwise propelled for the purpose herein stated,
such licensee shall display on every such vehicle two metal
plates, to be issued by the Clerk of the Circuit Court as afore-
said with such license, which plates shall show thereon a
number corresponding to the number of the license issued to
such licensee and the following inscription: "Anne Arundel
County Huckster License", and provided, further that a sep-
arate license shall be required for each vehicle, from which
sales as provided herein are made or from which any mer-
chandise is offered for sale in Anne Arundel County. Nothing
