azimuths) north 63 degrees east 330 feet from a white oak tree,
standing at the end of the first line of the corporate limits of
Hurlock, as described in Section 326, Chapter 240 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of Maryland, 1892, and thence run-
ning (1) north 20 degrees 49 minutes west 4, 360 feet, (2) south
69 degrees 11 minutes west 3, 200 feet, (3) south 20 degrees 49
minutes east, 6, 630 feet, (4) north 86 degrees east 3, 345 feet,
(5) north 20 degrees 49 minutes west 2, 970 feet, to the begin-
ning, containing five hundred twenty-two and seven-tenths
acres, more or less. Provided, however, that no farm lands
contained within the corporate limits of the town of Hurlock
shall be taxed for town purposes until the same is laid out into
building lots.

3. The government, corporate authority, rights, powers and
privileges of the said town shall be vested in and exercised by
a Mayor and two Councilmen who shall be elected as herein-
after provided, who shall be qualified voters of the town of
Hurlock for at least one year next preceding their election,
and their term shall be as hereinafter provided.

4. That on the first Saturday of May, in 1942, and on the
first Saturday of May every two years thereafter, an election
shall be held between the hours of 12 noon and six o'clock P.
M. under this Charter for the election of the Mayor and Coun-
cil after notice printed in some newspaper of general circula-
tion printed and published in Dorchester County or posted in
three conspicuous places in the town of Hurlock for at least
ten days before the election, and all inhabitants of the said
town qualified to vote who have been residents of the said
town for at least six months, shall be qualified to vote for the
said Mayor and Council at the election to be held on the first
Saturday of May, 1942, and at all subsequent elections which
shall be held under this Charter, and all person or persons
deciding to become a candidate for Mayor or Councilman shall
at least fifteen days prior to said election file with the Clerk of
Hurlock a written statement of such candidacy, which shall
be substantially in the following form:

State of Maryland, Dorchester County, to-wit:
I,................................... hereby certify that

I am now and have been for more than one year next pre-
ceding the coming election a resident of the town of Hurlock,
Dorchester County, Maryland, and that I am a qualified voter
therein; and assessed with property within the corporate limits
of Hurlock of at least of an assessed value of one thousand
