Should the Clerk or Treasurer of said Mayor and Town
Council ever divert or permit to be diverted any of the moneys
collected to retire any of such certificates of indebtedness, or
to pay the interest thereon, he or they shall, upon conviction,
be fined not more than one thousand dollars ($1, 000) or im-
prisoned for a term not exceeding five years, or both fined and
imprisoned in the discretion of the Court.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 801.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 305 to 337, inclusive, of Article 10
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, (Flack's 1930
Edition), title "Dorchester County", sub-title "Hurlock",
and to enact in lieu thereof a new Charter for the town of
Hurlock, in Dorchester County, and to create therein a
governing body by the name and style of "Mayor and Council
of Hurlock".
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 305 to 337, inclusive, of Article 10 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (Flacks 1930 Edition),
title "Dorchester County", sub-title "Hurlock", be and the
same are hereby repealed, and in lieu thereof that a new
Charter for the town of Hurlock, in Dorchester County, be
and the same is hereby enacted,. to read as follows:
1. That the inhabitants of the town of Hurlock, in Dor-
chester County, Maryland, are hereby constituted a body cor-
porate under the name and title of the "Mayor and Council
of Hurlock", and by that name shall have perpetual succession,
sue and be sued, have and use a common seal which may be
altered at pleasure, and shall have all of the powers incident to
or that may attach to a municipal corporation, and shall have
and possess all the rights, powers, property and duties vested
in and devolving upon the Commissioners of Hurlock, except
as the same may be changed by this Act.
2. The corporate limits of said village shall be included
within the following metes and bounds, to wit: Beginning at a
