commissioners of all receipts and disbursements during the
month.

48. The clerk shall enter all ordinances passed by the com-
missioners in a book to be kept by him for that purpose, which
shall at all times be open to the inspection of all persons in-
terested, and a copy of all ordinances shall be posted in at
least five public places in the town.

49. The Commissioners may annually appoint one or more
Town police, who, before entering upon his duties, shall make
oath before a justice of the peace of said county, that he will
faithfully and impartially perform the duties required of him
as police of said town, according to the best of his skill and
judgment; who shall also give bond in the sum of Fifty Dol-
lars for the faithful performance of his duties, the said bond
to be approved by the said Commissioners, and who shall serve
during the pleasure of said Commissioners, and who shall have
power within said Town to make arrests for the violations
of the public general laws and public local laws as well as the
ordinances of the said Town, and to maintain custody of per-
sons outside of the Town while in custody in faking them to
a justice or to jail.

50. The said police shall attend the meetings of the Com-
missioners when required and perform such services as they
direct.

51. The Commissioners may pass all ordinances necessary
to give effect to the powers vested in them by this charter, and
provide for minimum and maximum fines, penalties and for-
feitures for the breach of their ordinances; but no ordinance
shall provide for a fine, penalty, or forfeiture, for any one
offense, of more than One Hundred Dollars and confinement
in jail for more than thirty days.

52. All fines, penalties and forfeitures imposed by any
ordinances may be collected as small debts are, and shall be
applied in such manner, for the use of said town, as may from
time to time be directed by ordinance.

53. The said Commissioners may by ordinance provide for
the regulation of animals running at large in said Town, and
may provide by ordinance for the parking of automobiles,
trucks and other vehicles in said Town.

54. The public ground and property within said corpora-
tion, belonging to the town, shall be vested in the Commis-
sioners, to have and to hold for the benefit of said corporation,
its successors and assigns.
