CHAPTER 677.
(House Bill 775)

AN ACT providing for the suspension of stay during the con-
tinuance of the present National Emergency, of civil pro-
ceedings, at law or in equity, instituted by or against per-
sons in the National Guard, Naval Militia, Organized Re-
serves or Draftees, while in active military or naval service
of the United States, or in the Maryland State Guard while
in active service, and prescribing the manner, duration,
terms and extent of such suspension or stay.

CHAPTER 678.
(House Bill 687)

AN ACT to incorporate the town of Berwyn, in Prince George's
County, Maryland; to provide for the government thereof;
to grant municipal powers, to provide for the issuance and
liquidation of bonds, and assessments against properties
and to provide for a referendum of the citizens thereof to
determine whether this Act shall become effective.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by1 the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the citizens of the area within the boundaries here-
inafter described, in Prince George's County, Maryland, be
and they are hereby created a body corporate by the name of
the Town of Berwyn, and by said name have perpetual suc-
cession, sue and be sued, have and use a common seal, and
purchase, hold, use, lease and dispose of real, personal and
mixed property for the benefit of the town.

SEC. 2. The boundaries of said town shall be as follows:
Beginning at the Southeast corner of the Washington-Bal-
timore Boulevard and Baldwin Avenue in the sub-division of
Lakeland, and running thence along the South line of Bald-
win Avenue easterly to a point opposite the rear lot line of
Lot No. 9, Block 18 of the Lakeland Subdivision, thence North-
erly across Baldwin Avenue and along the rear lot lines of
Lots Nos. 9, 8, 7, 6 in Block 18, and Nos. 2 and 1 in Block 17
of the Lakeland Subdivision to the Southerly line of the alley,
thence Easterly along the Southerly line of said alley and
with the Northerly line of the Lakeland Subdivision to the
