City of Cumberland, and shall thereafter receive a monthly
pension in the amount and upon the conditions hereinafter
prescribed. No participant shall be entitled to retire tinder
this Section nor under these regulations, upon a full pension,
except for permanent disability arising out of accidental in-
jury in the course of duty, until he has rendered at least
twenty-five (25) years service in the Department of Fire of
the City of Cumberland. Upon completion of twenty-five (25)
years service, he shall upon his written application be re-
tired; upon attaining the age of sixty (60) retirement shall
be mandatory.

(g) Any member retired upon pension who shall have been
in service at least twenty-five (25) years, shall be entitled
to receive fifty (50%) percent of his salary as fixed at the
time of his retirement. Any participant obtaining a pension
must have served in his position for at least one (1) year im-
mediately prior to his retirement in order to receive a pension
as prescribed above. And if he shall not have served one (1)
year in said position, he shall receive fifty (50%) percent of
the salary paid him by the City of Cumberland during the pre-
ceding year.

(h) Any pensioner of the Fire Department Pension Fund
who obtains employment with the United States Government,
the State of Maryland, County of Allegany or in any other
Department of the City of Cumberland (except for jury serv-
ice) shall forfeit his pension with the Fire Department Pen-
sion Fund during the time of his employment. Any member
of the Department of Fire who shall be disabled through in-
juries received in the line of duty in said Department shall be
eligible for a pension under this section, in the event that
said disability continues after the period allowed by the work-
men's compensation law of the State of Maryland.

(i) No participant shall become eligible for any pension
from the Fire Department Pension Fund until he has served
as a member of the Fire Department for a period of ten (10)
years.

(j) Any member of the Fire Department who shall have
served as a member of said Department for a period of less
than twenty-five (25) years but not less than ten (10) years,
and becomes permanently disabled by reason of accident, sick-
ness, or physical disability, shall be entitled to receive a pen-
sion in the amount and under the rules and regulations here-
inafter prescribed. Any member of the Department who shall
become permanently disabled by reason of any accident in-
curred in the line of duty and who comes within the defini-
tion prescribed above shall be entitled to receive a full pen-
sion immediately after the expiration of any and all compen-
